Want to set up facebook layouts for your facebook fan pages? I've found several resources to help you!
Facebook is constantly undergoing changes. The lastest change on March 10, 2011 impacted Facebook fan pages and the use of the static FBML pages. Those who installed FBML pages are still able to use them currently. However, Facebook has moved to the iFrames technology.
If you don't currently have an author page on Facebook, I recommend you start one! For those of you that already have Facebook fan pages, I want to share with you some resources you can use to customize your page and your layouts using the new iFrames technology.
Use this app from Wildfire to create a Facebook layout for your fan page using iFrames. They say it will be free for the first three months and that anyone who gets in now will not have to pay when the app is upgraded. I encourage you to go get yours now! http://iframes.wildfireapp.com/
You can read all about it at their blog.
Just remember to change the default landing page to your new iFrames page in your page settings. Go to "edit page" and then change the "default landing page" to your new iFrames page from the dropdown menu.
You can create Facebook layouts for free for up to one page. I have heard several people say they are using Pagemodo and it works well for them. You can find out more by watching their video below or from their website: http://www.pagemodo.com/
With the free version of Tabsite you can choose from two names for your tabs - either "Tabsite" or "Welcome." They also have paid versions with more options. You can compare all of them here: http://www.tabsite.com/pricing.php

There you go! You have many great options (and most of them are FREE) to add some customization to your Facebook fan pages.
I have personally started using a paid tool. Most of the options I have given you up to now you can have one page for free. They allow you try one of their pages hoping you'll upgrade.
However, I have started using a paid tool - I finally gave in because of all the different options it gives me. To see how this paid tool works, go to my Facebook page at www.facebook.com/selfpublishingcoach.You can see I offer a free gift once you "like" my page, have a "store" page where I list my book marketing products and also have an opt-in page with more free gifts to add you to my newsletter. All within Facebook.
This tool uses WordPress and and then they connect with Facebook. You can find more information out about this tool that I'm using at this link, http://selfpub.me/fbpagetool. However, this is not for the faint in heart. You do need to know some technology. And you do need to be familiar with setting up WordPress blogs and using this technology or you can hire somebody who knows how to do that.
I really encourage you to consider one of these free options or maybe even a paid tool like the one I'm using or others. There are tons out there.
