So, why did I write this site? Well...

I Love to Teach

Once I learn something of value, I want to share it with others.

However, my background is in physical therapy, where I practiced full-time in the outpatient setting for 10 years. Then, after a series of life changing events, my career took a turn. I began speaking part-time with my husband in churches, schools, camps, conferences and retreats.

I especially enjoy speaking and sharing my heart with teen girls.

That's how my website, Teen-Beauty-Tips.com, began. I knew there was no way I could share everything I wanted to share by speaking to a group of teen girls for one hour. Plus, I already had the knowledge of building websites, so it was a perfect fit.

And before I knew it, the website turned into a book. And soon, there were more...bible studies, a devotional book for teen girls and my husband and I even wrote a book together!

That's How This Website Was Born

When I share with people that I have published my books with no upfront costs, can sell them from my website and Amazon.com as well as buy books at my cost (around $3) to sell at our speaking engagements, they are amazed. And they want to know how I did it.

Well, now I can show them. And you. By leading you step-by-step through the process of self publishing.

Honestly, there are people who have many more years of experience in self publishing than I do. In fact, I read some of their books while researching for articles on this site :)

Don't get me wrong. I do have experience with self publishing. Not only have I self published five paperback books in two years, but I also published the same information in various formats: PDF ebook, Kindle book, CD audio book and MP3 audio book.

And now I want to show you how to do the same.

The Power of Technology

Self-Publishing-Coach.com was birthed out of my experience with successful self publishing AND with building successful websites that rank well in the search engines. You see, I needed both.

about self publishing I have combined the power of information with the power of the internet.

Let's face it, we are an information society. (Sometimes overwhelmed with TOO much information!)

And through the internet, we often have the information we want instantly at our fingertips. You may be reading this on your computer, phone, iPad, iPod or other device. You may be on the train, at home, traveling in your car (hopefully not driving!), on a lunch break or at school.

Technology is indeed an amazing thing...and advancing at an amazing rate.

That's one of the reasons why every day people like you and I can get self published so quickly, easily and cost effectively these days. Self publishing technology is advancing at amazing speeds.

Technology is also the reason you are reading "how-to" articles on this website for free.

My Surprise Discovery

In 2004, I stumbled upon a free ebook by Sitesell, a company that provides web hosting and tools to build a website. I devoured the book and was convinced to sign up for my first website. From that "experiment," I now make a small income of around $500 per month - with over 45,000 unique visitors per month.

I then used the same tools and skills to build Teen-Beauty-Tips.com, which had around 1.2 milllion page views in 2010 and continues to grow. It's powerful!

Not only did Sitesell help me build a website, but they also gave me the tools and taught me how to build websites that rank well in the search engines for less than $25/month. And it works!

And so I am doing it again. With this website I hope to not only help others get published but also make enough income to quit my part time physical therapy job. This will allow me to travel freely around the United States (and the world) speaking and ministering with my husband.
